Born to an Austrian musician family, Andreas Maria Germek began hisImage training in the area of classical guitar, including with Štepán Rak, Jürgen Hübscher and Sonja Prunnbauer. He has worked with artists such as Manolo Marín, Juan del Gastor, Juana Amaya, Joaquín Ruiz, Rafael Habichuela, Toni Maya and José Parrondo.

He has also composed music for and worked closely with dancer Juan Carlos Lérida, who was a finalist in the VIII Certamen de Coreografía de Danza Española y Flamenco in Madrid.

In 1996 he formed the ensemble Flamenco Camerata with dancer and castanet virtuoso Belén Cabanes and singer José Parrondo, which performs regularly throughout Europe (among others: Internationale Gitarrenfestspiele Nürtingen / Germany, Sibiu International Theatre Festival / Romania, Festival Andalou / Saint-Jean-De-Luz, France, Konzerthaus Wien / Austria, Festival de la Porta Ferrada / San Feliù, Spain, Ohrid Summer / Macedonia).

His work since 2000 with soprano and dancer Rachel Lynn Bowman has made it possible for him to help create a concert program in which classical and flamenco are presented. The recital mujer y cuerdas and the ensemble noche de luna y flor, which grew out of this cooperative work has toured in the USA including the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center (Massachusetts) and Newport Performing Arts Center (Oregon) among others. The ensemble has also performed regularly in Europe including Festival Lent in Slovenia, Schlosskonzerte Goldegg in Austria and Munich´s Gasteig and has been able to win an audience of enthusiastic flamenco fans.

In his latest collaboration with dancer / choreographer Belén Cabanes, he took new strides in combining contemporary musical styles with strongly rooted flamenco musical themes in the choreography and storyline of the in 2003 world-premiered dance-theater production Tiempo de Flores.

The renewed collaboration with Juan Carlos Lérida in 2006 lead to a program named Con Secuencia, bringing together different artistic personalities from the branches of Flamenco, classical music and contemporary dance.

In 2009 he has been awarded a scholarship for composition from the Austrian state.

In 2011 his composition "Tiempo de Flores - Suite" for Flamencoguitar, Flamencoensemble and orchestra is performed in the "Großer Saal" of the viennese "Musikverein" together with the "Tonkünstler-Orchester" under the direction of Andrés Orozco Estrada.
